Since 1997, Chip Blalock has served as the Executive Director of the Sunbelt Ag Expo. Before joining the Expo team, Chip was the sales manager of Moultrie Farm Center for 7 years and served as an Extension agent for 3 years. A graduate of the University of Georgia, he and his wife, Donna, have two adult children. While at UGA, Blalock was involved in the AGHON Honor Society, the Meats Judging Team, the Live Animal Evaluation “AKSARBEN” Team, and the Block and Bridle Club. He was also part of the Academic Quadrathlon Team, the Society of Animal Scientists Southern Section Meetings, and the Little International Livestock Show.
Blalock has served on the Expo’s Board of Directors for 23 years and currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer. He enjoys watching the exhibit area “come to life” the week before Expo. He also appreciates seeing the crowds lining up at the gates on the opening morning of the Sunbelt Ag Expo each year. Not that he takes many breaks during the three-day shows, but if he does, you might find him eating an ice cream sandwich from the dairy barn or some of the fresh churned ice cream found throughout the grounds.
Chip and Donna have traveled the southeast watching their children, Bo and Buck, play sports. They also enjoy Georgia Bulldog sports and following the Colquitt County Packers. When he’s not working, you can find Chip at the golf course or working in his yard.
