Brown Manufacturing has been exhibiting at the Sunbelt Ag Expo since the beginning. Its owner, Ricky Brown, has been serving as a Board Member for the Expo for 15 years. In addition, he’s served as President for 5 years.
Born and raised in Ozark, Alabama, Brown is one of the biggest supporters of the Expo and its mission. Brown Manufacturing has been in operation for over 46 years and sells rotary cutters, disk harrows, tree cutters, and tree saws. The tree saws have been instrumental in the eradication of invasive cedars in the Midwest. In its early days, the company was instrumental in developing and building strip tillage technology in the United States.
Ricky’s favorite part about the Expo is seeing THE PEOPLE. He loves interacting with the visitors and the other exhibitors. He enjoys all of the food that is featured at the Young Farmer event and the Farmer of the Year Luncheon.
When asked about his hobbies, Mr. Brown responded, “I work.” He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and being with his two grandchildren.
He is also a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Ozark, the Dale County Arts and Humanities Society, and enjoys being involved behind the scenes in politics.
He is most proud of his family. He has two daughters Summer (husband Ryan) Elkins and Paige (husband Grayson) Hall and two grandchildren – Sela and Teal.
