Here at the Sunbelt Ag Expo, we hold a special place in our hearts for education, especially agricultural education. We love the opportunity to be able to offer an experience to students to see the agricultural industry up close.

In honor of FFA Week, we wanted to celebrate agricultural education. Many companies and partners realize the importance of investing in tomorrow’s agricultural leaders and make it a priority to connect with the youth and engage them in youth educational opportunities.

During the Sunbelt Ag Expo, we have three activities specifically for youth. Students can participate in the Advocacy in Action Contest, which is an event that features an opportunity for students to have a hand in the promotion of agriculture and the latest ag technology while considering current ag policies affecting our country. This event is sponsored by the Georgia Farm Bureau and is open to high school and college students. Farm Credit sponsors the always popular Ag Mechanics Contest each year.  Students and schools enter intricate and technical masterpieces that are judged and then displayed during the show for the public to see.  Our most popular contests for middle and high school students are the Youth Educational Challenges. This event has been enhanced to include an opportunity for teachers to join in a bit of friendly competition with their students.  These content specific contests are sponsored by Country Financial.  All participating students receive a meal provided by AgriSupply Company and Coca-Cola.

Many students visit Sunbelt each year when October rolls around, and we want to make sure they not only get the opportunity to learn about the agricultural industry, but make connections that will impact their future. No matter the age, there is always something to learn about at the Sunbelt Ag Expo.
