If you haven’t started already, now is the time to start planning your family’s trip to the 2022 Sunbelt Ag Expo in October. Expo is for the whole family. No matter your age or interests, join us…and bring the entire crew with you.
While visiting Expo, farmers can enjoy equipment set-ups as well as field demonstrations for hay, peanuts, cotton, and tillage tools. Visit with company and business reps about the latest technology for seed, tractors and more. For the gardener in the family, we offer the Flint River Fresh Backyard Garden. Seminars throughout each day as well as hands-on lessons allow visitors to get their hands dirty as they learn to grow their own food at home or in a community garden. In addition, many exhibitors feature small equipment and tools on their lots showcasing what might be useful for the hobbyist or small producer. Enjoy the Family Living Building, full of consumable products – specifically featuring the Georgia Grown Marketplace. If delicious food is what you are craving, visit the many food vendors or the areas with cooking stages and samples including the Georgia Grown Building and Marketplace stage, the Georgia Peanut Commission Building, and the Aquaculture area. Don’t forget to take in the Beef and Dairy Pavilions as well as the Horse Arena, Poultry Building, and Sheep and Goat Barn. Learn about the advancements being made in these areas through the many different seminars offered each day. Take a test drive in a new vehicle or ATV. Test tracks are featured throughout the grounds.
Education is at the core of the Sunbelt Ag Expo. Aside from the many colleges and universities to visit during the three-day event, students are encouraged to participate in the many different Youth Educational Opportunities offered during Expo. Several contests are offered with significant cash prizes. Engage with companies regarding future internships and jobs. Young children can visit with the many animals at the Expo, learn about electricity, and visit with the Georgia EMC Robot. Also, don’t miss a chance to visit Georgia Farm Bureau’s Mobile Ag Classroom or cast a line over at the fish ponds.
There is so much to see and do at the Sunbelt Ag Expo. One day is hardly enough time to experience all that the show has to offer – plan to stay all three. Mark your calendars now to attend this year’s 44th event October 18-20, 2022. We can’t wait to see you at the Expo!
