The rules of safety are different when your office is 40 feet in the air. Georgia EMC hosted live line demonstrations at the Expo to provide attendees with insight into the life of a lineman and to educate them about safety protocols. There was also a climbing pole to allow kids to experience the feeling of working in the sky.
Georgia EMC takes pride in adhering to its power line safety protocols for both employees and the public.
Andy Paul is Georgia EMC’s public relations representative. He is an ABAC graduate and shares the passion for EMC with his father, who also works for Georgia EMC.
“We believe in these communities, we believe in farmers and ranchers, and we believe in electrical safety” said Paul.
Paul represents the 41 electric membership corporations in the state. When he talks to electrical consumers, he explains how power did not even reach the city limits in the early 1900s. The company now has 198,633 miles of power lines in Georgia.
Farmers, wives, and bankers alike came together to create Georgia Electric Membership Corporation in 1937. With over 6,000 employees, Georgia EMC is dedicated to serving its members.
The Sunbelt Ag Expo extends its gratitude to Georgia EMC for sponsoring the Media Breakfast on Tuesday morning and being a long-time supporter of the event.
