The milking competition was an exciting highlight at today’s Sunbelt Ag Expo. In this friendly contest, three competitors each had 1 minute per cow to collect as much milk as possible. In between each cow, the milk was poured into a measuring cylinder. Once all the cows were milked, the judges decided on the winner.
This year’s competition was a close one, but Nick Place, Dean and Director of the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, defended his title from last year and took first place again. Harry Schaapman followed close behind in 2nd place and Jiles Coble finished in 3rd.
The crowd enjoyed watching this anticipated competition, which was exciting from start to finish.
