Opening day of the 2026 Sunbelt Ag Expo is here, bringing three days of exhibits, field demonstrations, and plenty of ground to cover.
Anyone familiar with October in South Georgia knows the weather can be unpredictable, and Sunbelt Ag Expo week is no exception. From chilly mornings to hot afternoons and the occasional rainy day, Expo weather can look a little different each year.
Morning temperatures are expected to start in the upper 40s before warming into the 70s later in the day. Breezy conditions could make those cooler mornings feel even chillier, especially for visitors arriving early.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 76 degrees, setting the tone for opening day. Similar conditions are expected Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 77 degrees. By Thursday, temperatures are forecast to climb slightly higher, reaching 79 degrees.
Fortunately for this year’s attendees, the forecast is leaning toward sunshine rather than raincoats. Bringing a light jacket can help visitors stay warm during the cooler mornings before the temperatures rise in the afternoon.
For visitors planning to explore the field demonstrations, the forecast offers favorable conditions for spending time outdoors. Sunny skies and mild afternoon temperatures should make for a pleasant day in the fields.
Much of the Sunbelt Ag Expo takes place outdoors, so visitors should plan for a full day on the grounds. Comfortable footwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a cold lemonade from one of the Expo’s vendors are a few practical items that can help attendees stay comfortable throughout the day.
After experiencing everything from rain to hot afternoons at past shows, longtime Expo visitors know the importance of checking the forecast before heading out. This year’s sunny outlook is welcome news for those looking forward to another three days at Sunbelt Ag Expo.
Whether it’s an annual tradition or a first visit, attendees can look forward to three days of the Sunbelt Ag Expo under what is expected to be sunny South Georgia skies. Regardless of how many days visitors plan to attend, a little preparation for South Georgia’s fall weather can go a long way.
